Should you hire a private investigator to do your infidelity investigation?

If you are wondering, you are not alone. In fact I have been asked by many people whether or not they should hire professional investigator.

Hiring a private investigator is not simply hiring someone else to point out the SIGNS he is cheating, you can expect to get proof and expect infidelity investigation is going to be conducted professionally on your behalf.

Of course, it comes to a price - it's not cheap when compared to some 'DIY alternatives' just like anything else...but it is considerably affordable.

So before you pick up that phone, ready to pay for a professional infidelity investigation, please check if the following situation applies to you:

1. You suspect your boyfriend is cheating on you, you've only been going out with him for a considerably short time.

2. You and your man have been together for a while, but don't have any joint account or finance together i.e. you don't live in the same house, you don't own anything together.

3. You are quite logical in your thinking - and you don't have a history of 'exploding' when you are angry.

4. You suspect your HUSBAND is cheating on you - but you know divorce does not seem like an option at this stage. (You are prepared to forgive him)

Now if any of the preceding points apply, I would strongly recommend you consider 'the alternative of private investigator'.

Why?

If number 1 and 2 apply, you should do your own infidelity investigation as there is no legal implication whether or not you choose to stay with him or simply break up with him.

Absolute proof, evidence, testimony and or witness will be very important if you need to get divorced with your rights intact, and the state that you reside in considers adultery as a valid reason for granting divorce.

If number 3 applies you can at least think straight when you find proof and evidence of him cheating yourself. You don't just quickly explode and do some violent attack on him (Do not underestimate the power of quick exploding rage).

If number 4 applies you are most likely to stay and work on your marriage, so you won't need professional proof and witness to back your 'divorce decision'.

Having said that, you still need proof and absolute evidence to confront him - otherwise he can just deny it and make you feel like you're living in a big world of 'his lies'.

When to hire a Private Investigator

You should hire a private investigator if:

1. You are extremely busy that you cannot do your own infidelity investigation, and you certainly don't want your spouse to end the relationship before you throw proof and evidence to his face.

2. You know you cannot handle witnessing the affair yourself - you may reveal your hands too early or you may go into violent mode possibly sending you to jail in the midst of rage.

3. You need the professional investigator testimony in court to back you up for a divorce case.

The Cost of Hiring them

Depending on where you live this can vary. Expect to pay between $80 - $180 hourly rate, and most will require a retainer up front (minimum of several hours work).

I recommend you choose a private investigator that is specialised in catching a cheating spouse.
